So what is Livingreen anyway? It’s about a lifestyle—smart choices and innovative solutions in building materials, home furnishings and products which both sustain nature and support the creation of healthy, beautifully designed spaces.
Our stores are both local and planetary in approach, offering a wide variety of building materials and design furnishings: coatings for walls of the lowest VOC content (VOC’s are Volatile Organic Compounds, unhealthy airborne particles present in many non-green materials); products made from recycled content that are not only clever and look great, but also help to divert waste from landfill; natural materials reconfigured into beautiful furniture and flooring; systems for creating energy-saving and ‘smart’ houses; books on what materials to use and how to use them; fun and useful gifts & accessories. We’re continually adding – and looking to add—to our product lines.
In order to help our customers better understand why we sell what we do, Livingreen has developed a new trademarked product-evaluation program called “Shades of Green”. This user-friendly system is a matrix of easy-to-follow criteria to assist customers in rating how “green” each product is in relation to others in its category and others carried in our stores. Shades of Green considers all steps involved in producing and getting products to the customer – from manufacture through disposal and reuse.
